Happy Monday! We had lots of kids with the sniffles and headaches today. Make sure that you are washing your hands and staying healthy! No one wants to get sick now that warmer weather is coming. Because it was storming out, we had indoor recess. We had a mini dance party in the classroom- the kids really know how to dance!
This morning we read Goldilocks and the Three Bears on the SmartBoard. We then talked about story elements and used that story as an example. In math we practiced 2 digit by 1 digit multiplication. We used dice and the SmartBoard to practice- it was a lot of fun! Tomorrow the students will have a test on this so make sure they are practicing tonight! In social studies they turned in their timlines- they looked awesome!
Homework: Read 15 minutes, multiplication worksheet (and study!), practice 7's test if you havent passed the test yet, fire escape plan for health is due tomorrow.
Tomorrow we will have our "Green Team" celebration during recess. Congratulations to all of those that stayed on green all month!

Happy April Fools Day! The students kept telling me my shoes were untied all day (and I fell for it about 4 times!) Everyone looked great with their crazy hair. I normally straighten my hair everyday but I wore it curly today for crazy hair day- the students said it wasnt crazy enough! I was out yesterday for a job fair so it felt good to get back today!
This morning we reviewed mode together using the SmartBoard. After music and art they took their spelling test and an April Fools Day test- make sure you ask them about it! Katie G. brought in cake so we celebrated her birthday as well! After lunch we learned about the one room school house on Beeson street where our Easter Egg pictures will be hanging. If you have the time, make sure you check it out! We also watched James and the Giant Peach since we had finished the book a few weeks ago. Have a great weekend and hopefully the snow will stay away!

Hi! I was looking at my calendar today and realized that I only have 14 more days of student teaching :( I can't believe how quickly it has gone! I am going to miss all of the students so much.
This morning we had our wax museum and it was AMAZING! All of the students looked fantastic and did really will acting like statues. The entire school was able to walk through our "museum" and everyone has such positive comments. We were so proud of all of the students.. they really looked like their characters! After the wax museum, we read The Three Little Pigs and The Billy Goats Gruff and compared and contrasted the two stories. In the afternoon we reviewed some graphs and then took a test on it- the students seemed to do really well with it! (I haven't graded them yet).
Homework for tonight: Read for 15 minutes, practice spelling words for friday, mutiplication and division worksheet, fire escape plan is due Tuesday, timeline of your life is due Monday, and Lexington Library books should be brought back tomorrow. Also, don't forget to turn in your money and registration for the Bee Active, Bee Fit day of Wellness that will be on April 16th. Have a great night!

Happy Monday! I hope that everyone had a great long weekend! I spent sometime with my family this weekend. They came from Medina to visit me and have lunch- It was great to see them!
Today in language arts we started to learn about poems. Each day this week we will be learning about a new type of poem. Today we learned about Haiku's. They are a type of poem that has three lines. The first line has 5 syllables, the second line has 7 syllables, and the third line has 5 syllables. In math we learned about picture graphs and how to answer questions about them. The students also talked about timelines in social studies.
Homework for tonight- FIND COSTUME FOR WEDNESDAY!! (Our Wax Museum will be Wednesday morning. You can find stuff for costumes around the house or inexpensively at goodwill.)Reading Packet is due Wednesday (Titled Wild Baby Animals), Practice 7's (For those that will be re-taking the test to get an A), Finish graphing packet, and study for the science quiz tomorrow.
Have a good night!

Happy Thursday- and weekend since we dont have school tomorrow!
Today was an awesome day at school. We finished language arts centers this morning. In math this afternoon we learned a saying to help us remember how to do long division.
Does McDonalds Sell CheeseBurgers Daily.
The bold letters stand for the following: D- Divide, M-Multiply, S-Subtract, C-Check, B-Bring, D-Down. The students were encouraged to write the letters on the top of their paper to help them remember the steps to long division. A paper was sent home for homework on long division so that they can practice it over the long weekend. They will be graded on long division on Monday.
During the afternoon we worked in math centers and the students really loved them. Even I loved them! They were really fun and a great way to end the week. We will be continuing with these centers in the future. We also started an art project. When we are finished with them, they will hang in the windows of the one room school house on Beeson street. We will let you know when they are up so you can drive by and check it out!
Homework for the weekend: Read for 1 hour, practice math facts, long division worksheet, graphing packet (it is due tuesday but all of the bar graphs pages are due Monday- We highlighted them in class if they are due Monday), Timeline is due Monday, and the students have a science quiz on Tuesday. (A study guide was sent home today).
Have a great long weekend!
